Your dashcam market guide

IS BIGGER ALWAYS BETTER?

Dashcams come in all frames and sizes and there’s a lot more to consider than the appearance or design, specially when a dashcam can make all the difference for you and others on the road.

are ALL dashcams equal?

They are not, besides their looks, they vary in features, channels and more importantly their internal components such as the lens, image sensor and additional capabilities, some considerations are:

  • FOV (field of view, how much area is covered).
  • Resolution (HD, 2k, 4K)
  • WiFi (Download videos straight to your phone)
  • Storage Capacity (how many hours can record)

What about the Privacy?

Each country have their own regulations for footage stored in dashcams, capturing the public or private actions even on public roads might be in a grey area or illegal, depending of the footage.

Generally speaking it’s safe to use a dashcam, as the footage will be overwritten over time, if you drive frequently, once the storage (SD CARD) reaches its limit, the camera will delete the oldest recording and replace it with the latest one.

Be mindful of what you share and for what purpose. There could be legal implication on plates or faces captured by your camera. Consult the regulation of your region/country to be safe.
